Playsonic Festival Frankfurt/M
25–27 May 18

Perhaps music - when it moves, surprises and engages - has always been the sound of play. And maybe the opposite is also true: where play transcends rules, winning or losing and develops an inner beauty, it can become music itself.

“Listening while playing / playing while listening” is the motto of PLAYSONIC FESTIVAL – a festival that is open to exploration and surprise. From May 25-27 2018, visitors are invited to join a multifaceted program throughout the building and the urban surroundings of Alte Oper Frankfurt. Festival Program

At the heart of the festival are four interdisciplinary focus teams - each comprised of a composer, a game designer and a joker artist, creating new works: a format for a large ensemble, an intimate chamber piece, an installation, and a site-specific work in public space. A number of experiments, conversations and workshops form the extended festival program.
